Planning & Zoning
Planning & Zoning Responsibilities
The Planning and Zoning department is primarily responsbile for administering the laws, regulations, and requirements that pertain to the physical development of the Township. Working with the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals, this department publishes and enforces ordinances designed to maintain the character of the Oceola Township community.
The Planning and Zoning department provides complementary consultations with residents, builders, contractors, and businesses to ensure that development activities are in compliance with Township ordinances and, if compliance is not met, that corrective measures are put in place.
The master plan for the Township is the foundation for much of what we do. While documents are updated and revised as needed, they provide a roadmap for development within the Township.
